Getting Started

Newcomers to Pilates must start at a beginner level (Essential Matwork) so that fundamental principles can be thoroughly learned before progressing into more complex movements. If you have had experience with Pilates, we will help direct you to the appropriate level class for you!

Each participant must purchase a yoga/Pilates mat and bring it to every class.

If you are a newcomer to yoga, we recommend starting in beginner yoga (when offered) or Hatha I. These are fundamental classes which focus on form, alignment and technique.

Mid-Session Newcomers

Mid-session newcomers will be integrated into the existing schedule of classes. Pre-registration is necessary prior to attending. We encourage newcomers to schedule a private mat class to learn the principles of form and muscular emphasis of the basic exercises.

Class Descriptions

Pilates matwork classes are taught using props including toning balls, rollers, bands, stability balls, and circles to help amplify and intensify movements, increase range of motion, improve balance, and add diversity.

PLEASE NOTE THAT WE UPDATE OUR OFFERING OF CLASSES THOUGHOUT THE YEAR. OUR CURRENT SESSION CAN BE VIEWED ON OUR CALENDAR PAGEAS WELL AS OUR ONLINE SCHEDULER. The following descriptions reflect our current offerings.
